The BC ABSN is a collective of Aboriginal business service providers in British Columbia who enhance access to business information and resources. ABSN is an initiative of the Federal Government Aboriginal Business Development Strategy.
In 2002, the Community Economic Development Centre and Simon Fraser University completed a Gap Analysis on Aboriginal business needs and service providers. As a result of the study an ABSN coordinator was hired, REACH Sites were developed throughout the Province, a workbook was published on Aboriginal Business Development and a variety of other tools - intended as capacity development tools for Aboriginal Business Development Officers.
Jacquie Ridley joined the Tricorp team in January 2000. She began as the Reception/Loan Administrator and was responsible for day to day front line duties, preparation of the corporation's loan security documentation and registration of the security agreements.
In 2003, Jacquie became part of the finance team and her additional responsibilities now include managing the day to day operational accounting for Tricorp and Nesika. Her other duties include maintenance of the computer network, computers and updating this website. She continues to work at finding new ways to improve and streamline the processes in her position and seeks out training that will help her accomplish those goals.
A new role that she has taken on is working closely with management on Board matters. She is responsible for setting up meetings, ensuring the Board receives the necessary information in preparation for conference calls and meetings.
Paulette is actively involved in producing Aboriginal documentaries and events that highlight Aboriginal Culture and business success.
